Dr. Amitava Adak is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, India. He completed his B.Sc. in Physics from Jadavpur University, West Bengal in 2009. Thereafter, he joined TIFR, Mumbai for M.Sc. and PhD. He got the first opportunity there to work in the area of very high intensity femtosecond laser matter interaction with Prof. G. Ravindra Kumar. In 2016 he joined JILA, University of Colorado at Boulder, USA as a Research Associate and worked at the frontier of High Harmonic Generation. He came back to India in 2020 and joined IIT (ISM) Dhanbad as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics.
Poulami Das

Poulami had completed her Bachelor and Master of Science in Physics from Visva Bharati university, West Bengal. She was the first rank holder in her Master's degree. Poulami joined the group in December 2022. Her research interest is in intense laser-plasma dynamics and spectroscopy.
Satyaranjan Satyajit
PhD student
Satyaranjan completed his B.Sc. from Nayagarh Autonomous College, Odisha in 2019. Then He joined IIT Madras in 2020 for his MSc in Physics. He joined the group in 2023 July. His broad research interest is on ultrafast laser-plasma dynamics and high harmonic generation.
Pratyush Dash
PhD student
Pratyush has completed his Bachelor’s degree from Dharani Dhar University, Keonjhar, Odisha, and his Master’s degree from IIT Patna. He joined our group in July 2024, and is currently pursuing his PhD with a research focus on external field–assisted plasma dynamics in magnetic materials and their applications. His work aims to understand the influence of external electric and magnetic fields on plasma evolution and material modification, with potential applications in nanomaterials and advanced functional materials
